Arrest Made In Old Market Hate Crime

Omaha Police have arrested 35 year old Gregory Duncan for third degree assault for an incident that took place in the Old Market last October.   Because it is being investigated as a hate crime, Duncan is being charged with a felony.

Ryan Langenegger told WOWT 6 News that he was punched in the face for defending his two gay friends outside a restaurant near 12th and Howard in the Old Market.

The incident happened around 3:00 in the morning on October 27th.  Langenegger says he and his friends were called derogatory names regarding their sexual orientation.

Langenegger says they were followed out of the restaurant by three men.  Police say it was Duncan who punched Langenegger in the face.
