Council Votes To Remove Crossroads Bond Issue From Ballot

The Omaha City Council voted Tuesday to remove a bond issue from the May ballot that would have helped redevelop the property.

The developer wants to turn the mall into luxury lofts, a hotel, shops and office space, a plan that comes with a $400 million price tag.

Last month the council approved adding a $50 million bond issue to the May ballot to cover costs of infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks and sewers.
