Haworth Park In Bellevue Open

Haworth Park In Bellevue Open

Debbie Pennington says she "felt lost" not having Haworth Park the past two years.  The Bellevue woman brought her camper to the park on a frequent basis, but had to put her recreation plans on hold as flood waters covered the park.

Today Pennington and city officials were on hand as a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to mark the offical re-opening of the Bellevue landmark.

Just in time for the Fourth of July weekend, the public boat ramp, campgrounds, picnic areas and trails are now open.  In September city officials and volunteers will plant 250 trees to help replace the 500 that were destroyed.

Another summer tradition will also be returning to the park.  RiverFest 2013 will be held July 19th and 20th.
