Husker Fans Prepare For Spring Game

Nebraska football coach Bo Pelini is changing the format of Saturday's annual spring game at Memorial Stadium.   Instead of splitting the players into Red and White teams, it simply will be offense vs. defense.

Pelini says injuries and a lack of depth at some positions led to his decision. Fans still should enjoy the afternoon because the game will match the No. 1 offense against the No. 1 defense a significant amount of the time. Pelini says the scrimmage would last 90 to 120 plays.

About 50,000 tickets have been sold for the game. The game will be carried live on statewide television, and replayed on the Big Ten Network.  Kickoff is set for 2:00.

For folks keeping score, there will be a points system that rewards the defense for certain accomplishments.  The scoring system is outlined below.
