Metro Businesses Praised For Alcohol Compliance

State Patrol Sergeant Bob Elliott tells Newsradio 1110 KFAB the routine compliance checks they do is making a big difference in cutting down on alcohol purchases by teenagers.

Elliott says he is pleased with last Friday's compliance check results that resulted in only one of the 54 Douglas County businesses selling booze to a minor.

"It is an improvement over what we have seen" Elliott says.  "It's nice to see that businesses take this seriously and check i.d."

Elliott says during the compliance checks they send teenagers into stores with their i.d. to try and purchase alcohol.  The retail outlets checked included convenience, liquor and grocery stores.
