The chase started over the noon hour after Omaha Police say the motorcyclist clipped one officer who was directing traffic on 72nd Street near the Omaha Country Club and came close enough to hit the traffic sign a second officer was holding.

Officer James Shade says other officers and the Nebraska State Patrol began chasing the motorcycle.  Speeds reached more than 100 miles per hour in the northern parts of Douglas County.

The man eventually pulled over near 108th and Bennington Road and was arrested.  He had a female passenger on the back.

Shade says the second officer that was struck suffered a minor hand injury.  The motorcyclist is facing a number of charges, including assault on an officer.
