Omaha Fire Captain Dies

The Omaha Fire Department says Captain Paramedic William "Rich" Livengood died at his home in PottawattamieCounty on Wednesday.  He was 46 years old.

 

Livengood was hired by the Omaha Fire Department in February, 1999.  During his tenure he held the rank of Firefighter, earned his Nebraska Paramedic license in 1999 and was promoted to Captain in 2008.

 

Livengood was a member of the department's Special Operations team, Dive Rescue Team and was a member of the Nebraska Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue Team.

 

 Funeral arrangements are pending and the cause of death is not yet known
