Omaha Prepares For Title Fight

The official announcement that Omaha will host a title fight for the first time in 42 years was made during a Thursday news conference at the Century Link Center.

Terence "Bud" Crawford of Omaha and challenger Yuriorkis Gamboa from Cuba are both 23-0 and met face to face during a news conference in Omaha.

Both men verbally sparred as they expressed confidence in their abilities to win the fight. Crawford fired the first salvo  "The only thing I can say about the man is that he shouldn't have taken the fight."

Through his interpreter, Gamboa fired back. "I didn't make a mistake taking this fight. Measure the caliber of fighters you've fought versus the caliber of fighters I have fought, then you can talk."

With several fans in attendance, Crawford drew cheers when he responded " One thing, you ain't fought me yet."

Legendary boxing promoter Bob Arum announced tickets would be priced so many fans will have a chance to see their hometown hero.  Tickets will go on sale Friday at 10:00 a.m and will cost $27, $52 and $102.
