One Dead After Cycle Crash in Bluffs

A fatal crash involving four motorcycles and an SUV took place on Old Lincoln Highway just north of Council Bluffs Tuesday evening.

Pottawattamie County Sheriff Jefferey Danker tells Channel 6 News 18-year-old Joseph Goodwin was killed and two others were taken to the Nebraska Medical Center.

Witnesses said a black 2009 Buel motorcycle was northbound on Old Lincoln Highway. While passing another vehicle, the driver of the Buel, 18-year-old John Harter, lost control. Both he and his passenger, Joseph Goodwin, were thrown off.

The Sheriff's report says the Buel continued into the path of a southbound 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was being driven by 67-year-old Kathryn Kennon. Kennon and Harter were taken to the hospital; however, their current conditions have not been released. Goodwin died at the scene.
